I sought out Katie specifically for her gift in zoning kitchens, and I’m so glad I did!

I was feeling overwhelmed with our space — especially with my new kitchen. Most things technically fit, but nothing really flowed. Some areas weren’t being used as well as they could be, and a few spots I just had no idea what to do with. Space was limited, and while I knew we weren’t using the kitchen to its full potential, I didn’t know where to start. That’s where Katie was truly invaluable.

She had me show her the kitchen in its most lived-in state (yes, it was a bit messy!) — and she took it all in completely without judgment. She used that glimpse into our real life to observe how we cook, how we move, and how our family naturally uses the space. Within moments, she was pointing out vulnerabilities in the layout that I would have never noticed on my own.

Katie has an amazing way of seeing a kitchen as a series of functional zones — not just cabinets and countertops. She helped us redefine how we use different parts of the room, and in doing so, she uncovered what she called “valuable real estate” — little corners and spots that were underused or misused. With her guidance, every inch now has a purpose, and it all just makes sense.
